The Porsche Carrera Cup is a prestigious one-make racing series within the IMSA framework, featuring the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car. Known for its emphasis on driver skill and precision, the series offers a competitive platform for both professional and emerging drivers. The Carrera Cup supports events on the F1 calendar, offering an exciting motorsport weekend for IMSA fans.
Each division is divided by age group with all drivers competing in the same specification Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 992).

Aged 17 to 35
Featuring the stars of the future, the Pro class in Porsche Carrera Cup North America is proving to be a key launching pad for young talent. 2021 Pro champion Seb Priaulx went on to become a race winner in the FIA WEC aboard a Porsche in 2022. It will again be in Porsche machinery in the US in the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Porsche Selected Driver Program North America racers Kay van Berlo and Trenton Estep (multiple 2022 race winners) earned spots in the program thanks to their Pro class success.

Aged 36 to 49
These racers staged an epic battle for championship success over the past two years. Efrin Castro took the title by only two points in the Pro-Am category in 2021 over Alan Metni. In 2022, Metni fought back to claim the championship – this time by only three points. In 2023 Castro found himself back on the top step of the championship after winning 7 races. A total of 15 racers contested the Pro-Am class in the Porsche Carrera Cup in 2023.

50 and over
They may not be as young as the Pro stars at the front of the pack, but the desire to succeed is just as fierce. Mark Kvamme took a narrow championship win in the Am class last year with 8 wins from 16 races – edging out Scott Noble by only 3 points.

All Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars in the Porsche Carrera Cup are identical, featuring a lightweight chassis, a 4.0-liter flat-six engine with 510 horsepower, and a six-speed sequential gearbox. Equipped with advanced suspension, carbon composite brakes, and Michelin racing tires, the cars are optimized for handling and performance.
