COTA is a modern, technical circuit with a blend of fast-flowing corners, tight hairpins, and wide straights. Turn 1 is a blind, uphill left-hander requiring late braking and commitment on entry. The esses (Turns 3–6) demand rhythm, agility, and precise car placement. Turn 11, a slow hairpin, sets up the long back straight—critical for overtaking into Turn 12, a heavy braking zone. The triple-apex right-hander (Turns 16–18) tests balance and throttle control. With wide runoffs and smooth pavement, the track invites aggressive driving—but tire wear and track limits management are key over a race distance.
Located in Austin, Texas, Circuit of The Americas is the first purpose-built Formula 1 facility in the U.S. and remains a centerpiece of American motorsport. Since its debut in 2012, COTA has hosted premier events like Formula 1, MotoGP, WEC, NASCAR, and IMSA. Designed by Hermann Tilke with input from Kevin Schwantz, the layout pays homage to famous corners from Silverstone, Suzuka, and Hockenheim. Beyond racing, the venue features the iconic COTA Tower, festivals, concerts, and fan-friendly amenities. With its global pedigree and modern infrastructure, COTA is a must-watch stop for both fans and drivers across multiple disciplines.
